crossover idea twists

Where stuff about fanfiction that doesn't fit into any other category goes. Try to make sure that new topics here actually couldn't actually go somewhere else.

Well, something of that nature happened in Oh My Goddess, the result of an idle comment of Keichii and Belldandy being drunk (She drank enough sake to put the entire motor club under the table and remained perfectly sober, and then got wasted on a can of cola) and casting spells randomly. It wore off after 24 hours, but it had various humorous incidents connected to it, mainly stemming around 1: Skuld's reaction to their predicament, and 2: issues of hygiene.

Ranma/Harry Potter. What happens when a group who uses a variety of indirect references to refer to a terrorist leader collides with a group that uses a similar variety of indirect references to refer to a perverted underwear thief?

Bastard!/Slayers: There are two groups of adventurers, each lead by a powerful mage who has slain a god of darkness. What happens when they meet, and one of them, a tall, white-haired, chauvinistic sorcerer, calls the other a scrawny, flat-chested little kid?

The result would be impressive to watch - from a high-powered telescope inside a reinforced bunker ten miles distant. Darshe would probably win, but Lina would do a lot of damage first - both to him and the surrounding countryside.

This is rather generic, but would work well with SM.

A battle between heroes and the villain of the week has begun. The various characters begin their introductory monologues, when one looks to the side and sees somebody holding up cue cards. Apparently the speeches have gotten so predictable that one of the hero's observers can predict what they're going to say long in advance.

Ranma / Read Or Die:

The British Library or the paper sisters (depending on the R.O.D. time line) learn of a previously thought lost book that is in the hands of one of Ranmas acquaintances. He subsequently gets involved (I.E. begged, blackmailed, or gult-tripped), and ends up having his rear handed to him by either Yomiko or Anita depending again where in the R.O.D. time line it is.

As far as I know, no one has gotten around to this cross yet, but I wish someone with better fiction skills then I would.

Yomiko's civilian cover is substitute schoolteacher, so getting a plausible way to cross Ranma's path is quite easy. Or the Senshi's path, or the Reikai Tantei's path, or Yohko Mano's path, or the path of quite a lot of other school aged anime characters, for that matter.

It's strange that ROD crossovers aren't more common, for this very reason.

Harry Potter/Sailor Moon: When the two groups meet, somebody on the HP side asks how Sailor V got away with breaking the laws about underage magic usage so often. After all, she started at 13, and mages in Britain aren't allowed to use magic outside of school until they are 17. By rights, whenever she used her powers, somebody from the Ministry of Magic should have apparated to her location and tried to arrest her.

Alternatively, you could have a story where V doesn't get away with breaking the underage magic rules.

Why limit it to those two series. Since Sasuke was the name a famous historical ninja, several anime featuring ninja characters have one named Sasuke.

Hmm... Ranma/Black Lagoon crossover. Furiken decides to sponsor a class trip to Roanapur, and some of the students (Including the present members of the NWC) end up getting held hostage by a terrorist group. Eventually the triad decides to take them out because they haven't gotten along with that group, and they don't want the hostage situation to become a big news story. The Lagoon company gets hired to escort the soon to be rescued students back, except Ranma, Ukyo and Akane manage to get everyone out, letting them on the streets of Roanapur. Chaos ensues.

Read or Die/You're Under Arrest:

What would happen if Officer Ken Nakajima was related to Donny Nakajima, 18th holder of the title 'The Paper', teacher and lover of his successor, Yomiko Readman, and who died by her hand?

If they could arrest her. It'd be hilarious to see her leading them on a merry chase though. Heheheh.

And a possible second chapter of that odd cross, watching those lunatics go about solving the problem, by blowing up the Third, Fourth, and Fifth-world countries that eat all the food the First-worlders make without paying for it.

Akane is invited to compete in a cooking contest. She openly gloats over the fact that she is invited by name when nobody else in Nerima is, including the professional cooks. She doesn't understand the implication when she goes up against such cooks as Ryoko Hakubi or Xelloss the Trickster Priest.

It isn't until the judging stage that she learns that the competition is to identify the world's worst cook.
