A Soul Reaper, aka, a Shinigami or a Death God, is from the anime/manga Bleach. They are spirits that help ghosts pass onto the afterlife, and that hunt down evil spirits that have been corrupted into "hollows" and started attacking innocent ghosts and people. They come from another dimension called the Soul Society (otherwise known as the afterlife) and regularly patrol the human world to protect ordinary people from hollows. Soul Reapers (and hollows) are invisible to most people, so very few people realize they exist.

At the start of Bleach, the main character, Ichigo, one of the few people that can see hollows and reapers, is attacked by a hollow. A soul reaper named Rukia tries to save him but is critically injured by the hollow, and in desperation she transfers her powers into Ichigo. His soul pops out of his body, becoming a Soul Reaper himself, and he wastes the hollow. Turns out Rukia gave him more power than she meant too, and she won't be able to fight or return to the soul society for a while. Also, Ichigo's transformation into a soul reaper has somehow become permanent, which she didn't intend. So she conscripts him into helping her fight hollows as a "substitute soul reaper" until she recovers. Basically, he goes about his life as normal, but when Rukia senses a hollow, he pops out of his body, hunts it down, and then climbs back into his body afterwards.

In Billy vs. Snakeman, you can become a Substitute Soul Reaper yourself after getting the required items and passing the special mission, helping out a temporarily powerless soul reaper named Shorty (the BvS equivelent of Rukia). You can go on special "Reaper-only" missions, where you can only take Reaper allies and use special Reaper jutsus. I don't know anything more about it than that though, as I haven't actually become a reaper yet.

does anybody know what kind of c rank mission you got the soul glove on? I know it was C rank pick up after a reaper party, but I can't remember if it was Genjutsu, Taijutsu or Ninjutsu.

Jupia: Thanks, but the synopsis of Bleach was un-needed since I know about the series and keep up weekly. XD Hope that didn't take too long to type.

Anyway though, now I know why 'Reaper' was in the game several times, and I kept thinking 'Hell Butterfly' from Bleach when I saw 'Heck Butterfly' and all that.

Interesting way to incorporate two different series.

Heh, it's fine, I'm sure it'll help anyone else who's didn't know. This is only a rumor, but I heard that BvS will eventually also incorporate elements of Initial D. The only evidence of it though is the fact that several allies mention "drift racing". Anyone else know anything about it?

They say in the announcements or the how-to section that they do have a drift racing element intended for the games, its just not been coded yet. Also there is mentioning of the death note powers as well several times, but I have yet to see where those powers come in other than the names of the allies from that series. Right and Hyuk are both potential allies, and some people even already have them, as well as the announcements mentioning that you can get the Note bloodline. I think the thing is intended to eventually snowball to include a lot of the more popular anime series as time goes on.

Yeah the death note bloodline is called the Trade. On a c rank mission, and in the party house you can get note pages. Note pages are one shot kills used in bingos. You need over 200 style points before the special mission opens up to get the Trade.

Using a note page gets 40-70 style points, I think. Finishing a bingo with some justu will also reward you with style points, Epic dog urination is one of the justu that will get you style points if you finish off your bingo with it.

Not only is there the drift racing, there has also been talk of pirates (probably one piece) and who knows what all else.

I read the faq on it, but I still don't quite understand it. What exactly is bingoing, what does it do, and whats the deal with style points?

Bingoing is attacking a single ninja. A stat is chosen and rolls are made. Damage is done based upon the rolls. The first person to lose all their hp is bingoed. Being bingoed you can not attack, patrol, spy or collect resources for about 35 hours or so.

Style points are how you unlock the Trade. You get style points for successfully bingoing ninja. To bingo you need to be in the nww.

Sorry if its a bit short and lacking in detail its about 3am and I'm rather tired at the moment.

It picks your highest Stat, and you then need to get *I think* a mission with 10Difficulty/3success, then a 6D/6S, and then you get Timmy (-2 Str, -2 Level, +20% AP/XP) and need to take him on 30 successful missions. (team him up with Billy for a much easier time, and just take him on d ranks to make it really easy)

Yes, I finally became a soul reaper (now I can live up to my avatar)! Those reaper missions are pretty hard and they cost 15 stamina each. I heard you can get a perm item from a reaper special mission that brings the cost back down to 10, though.

Yup, Soul Candy. And you need to have 2 of the reapers to trigger the availability (not going to spoil it by saying which two here though)

yeah, but the XP you get is somewhere between that of b and c class missions, and usually 200 ryo (before village dues) and ALOT easier to get successes than B Ranks (trust me, even my Jonin has troubles with B ranks without a carefully built team, and nice Jutsu. Heck even with balanced team and jutsu I have trouble with B's. And about A's... Don't ask)
