With that, Ilya walked out, leaving Emilya to wonder if she pushed the girl too far with her requests and now earned her dislike.

Well, we could look it like that. Or, by defnition, we could treat it as Ilya having a tsundere moment. She looks annoyed, but, in truth, she is very much interested in what Emilya might be able to create. Which might also give Emilya some space to make something that could be potentially be useful once da War starts; like, say, making a golem (metal or otherwise) homage to Herakles/Herules, y'know to appease Ilya a bit.

Here Ilya never met Hercules, so it's pointless. Emilya is the one who protected her from the wolfs and also the one liked by Ilya (that they have Master - Servant relantionship is an ordinary thing for Ilya, she never really had any normal ones.)

Also I don't think Ilya is a tsundere, it just in her character to be nice to those she cares about while being merciless to those she don't like or have to treat that way. (she can be cruel, but this is partly alike to a child that doesn't understand yet. Partly because she's old enough to understand, but never had enough friendly interactions to fully realize)

She was nice to Rin and Saber after she lost Berserker not because she became nice, but because she was no longer a Master and had no reasons to kill. She already liked Shiro and started to like even more, when he surprised her by forgiving everything.

So far I found that Sakura could be cured by Sisterly Hug of Love + Rule Breaker combo :D

Oh, would Avalon follow Shiro's soul when it was moved to Ilya's body? It was tied to his spirit, not body after all.

And...

http://akibakko.net/555

Here's what as I think Emilya should look like.(except for the weapon)

Can somebody describe her clothing? I think I don't have broad enough vocabulary to do that and I really don't want to spend an hour with vocabularies.

Here's something to note. Emilya was summoned 2 months before the Holy Grail was activated. Without the Grail's aid there is a severe increase in the Prana needed to maintain a servant.

In canon, Illya was in such severe pain after summoning Berserker that even a simple movement gave her incredible agony. It shouldn't be as bad with a Lancer who doesn't need as much prana but it is something to take note of.

Illya's nature... is chaotic. She's capable of both good and evil to such an exteme that it boggles the mind. That... and she's adorable to boot.

She was nice to Rin and Saber after she lost Berserker not because she became nice, but because she was no longer a Master and had no reasons to kill.

Not quite. Illya TOLERATES Rin and Saber because Shirou likes Rin and Saber. Otherwise she couldn't care less for either of them. Saber was irritated with Illya's presence because she was still a master, even if she didn't have a servant anymore and Rin resents her because Illya was responsible for Archer's death in Fate route.

She already liked Shiro and started to like even more, when he surprised her by forgiving everything.

Ehh... no.

Illya had her own agenda with Shirou.

Before the Holy Grail War, she hated Shirou but at the same time she was curious. Why did Kiritsugu abandon her and raise Shirou instead?

At the same time, in a roundabout way, Shirou was really the only family she had left.

As time went on and she saw Shirou's good qualities she stopped hating him. Even grew to like him.

Oh and I don't think there was any forgiveness. More like Shirou just didn't care as he honestly places no value in himself.

So far I found that Sakura could be cured by Sisterly Hug of Love + Rule Breaker combo :D

The shadow yes... The crest worms not so much. Especially with the main worm deeply imbedded in her heart...

Oh, would Avalon follow Shiro's soul when it was moved to Ilya's body? It was tied to his spirit, not body after all.

This is just speculation but I'm of the group that believes if Illya had avalon, her body wouldn't have deteriorated and she could live beyond the 1 year deadline post 5th Holy Grail war.

And was it tied to his spirit? That's news to me but it does make sense.

Hm. So, that's why Ilya was reluctant to let Emilya stay visible. I wondered why I thought she'll be angry at Lancer's requests. Heh. my imagination remembered it even though 'I' forgot it.

Illya's nature... is chaotic. She's capable of both good and evil to such an exteme that it boggles the mind. That... and she's adorable to boot.

Yes. Chaotic. She does what she wants without caring much if it's good or evil.

Not quite.

'Nice' was a wrond word to use -.-

Yes, I know. I meant that she already liked him as in 'I won't kill him yet, even though he's a Master'

The shadow yes... The crest worms not so much. Especially with the main worm deeply imbedded in her heart...

Umm. with Avalon put in her body, will she survive the removal of that heart worm?

Because, as I understand, the danger of killing her by ripping that worm out of her heart is the main reason why it wasn't removed sooner.

This is just speculation but I'm of the group that believes if Illya had avalon, her body wouldn't have deteriorated and she could live beyond the 1 year deadline post 5th Holy Grail war.

Hm. I'm still thinking about should Emilya, as a Servant, have Avalon inside of her body or not.
(Even if she had Avalon inside, I think that Magi Association, undoubtedly interested in what would happen if Emilya became a Servant, could somehow block Avalon from restoring her body.)

Just thought of something.
Servants are not heroes themselves but copies with detailed information of their past, they do not carry the memories they got in one Grail War to another. Arturia was an exception because she wasn't dead yet when she was summoned as a Servant.

So... Shiro's soul was revived by Ilya and given a copy of her body as a vessel and I wonder if the miracle that revived him and a fact that his new body was a vessel for Grail and, as I can assume was exposed to The Root of Universe and might've kept a link to it, also made his spirit an exception that can be 'alive'.

Also as I understood, in Fate, for Assassin it wasn't Caster that was his anchor in this world, but temple grounds. So assuming that Shiro's soul had another anchor or more of them than just Ilya's body, that's a way to bypass 'how Emilya's soul can be alive without a body' problem. (Or it might be a paradox like Ciel's before Roa was destroyed)

1)Emilya as Servant is somewhat close to Roa I think. She is summoned and after War ends or she's killed, she returns to whatever anchor she has in this life or falls asleep like Arcuied (as I understood, not in this world, but in her own realm) while keeping her 'alive' status.

2). She never died, since Ilya knew that she won't live for long after War and mostly fixed it as she performed the miracle, and continues to live her life except that occasionaly her spirit leaves her body to participate in Wars in a way somewhat alike to Arturia's.

Correct. Servants are only copies of the original Heroic Spirit. However since Souls are only records in Nasuverse a copy of the soul is completely indistinguishable from the original.

Nope. According to Nasuverse, dead is dead. Even Roa's reincarnation ability doesn't fully escape death. He is only capable of rewriting someone else's 'record' with a copy of his own after death and even then it's imperfect and fragmented. Once dead, you stop being a vessel of the grail.

And forging multiple anchor's to the world shouldn't have been possible. But Caster h@xxed the grail with magic that no longer exists in this day and age. Even then it was an improper summon as far as Assassin went. He was anchored to Ryuudo Temple but still needed Casters Mana to still exist.

1)Emilya as Servant is somewhat close to Roa I think. She is summoned and after War ends or she's killed, she returns to whatever anchor she has in this life or falls asleep like Arcuied (as I understood, not in this world, but in her own realm) while keeping her 'alive' status.

Again, dead is dead. The only ways to escape death are to...

1. Not die.
2. Obtain to what amounts to as a miracle. Also known as the Holy Grail.

3. Not be human at all. (Dead apostle, True Ancestors, Perfect Homunculi etc.)

2). She never died, since Ilya knew that she won't live for long after War and mostly fixed it as she performed the miracle, and continues to live her life except that occasionaly her spirit leaves her body to participate in Wars in a way somewhat alike to Arturia's.

To be honest, that sounds like a bit of a stretch... Also I don't think that's within Illya's capabilities as the defect is at a genetic level, not a spiritual one. She was not using the Grail as a wish machine (possibly because she wasn't able to or maybe that would've triggered Angra Mainyu.). All she did was perform the third magic using the collected mana within the greater grail.

EDIT: You know what? I'm not too sure about that. It's vague. The grail may have managed to puncture a hole into Akasha and she acquired the third magic that way...

Ugh...

Then there's two ways.

1) Emilya's constant memories and other aspects of a living spirit Saber showed, are there because of her Master and era she was summoned in.

2)Ilya used her Dress of Heaven that is capable of producing a miracle and the Mana within Grail got her enough power to do just that. Or indeed she used the hole to Root and made her wish that way.

Af for genetic modifications, if it was a miracle then "I want you to live forever, Shiro", as I think, would be enough to make both ways, i described earlier, possible.

Although the first way might be Emilya returning to the last minute of her life and a minute later being summoned into another War, like Arturia.

Hm. Third Magic is ultimately capable of making soul not only 'download' from Throne of heroes, as all Servants do, but 'upload' as well. As I understood, this is goal of Einzbern family.

Edit.

Got this info from Beast's Lair

Shiro after canon Heaven's Feel can be described as a spirit( or a Servant ) that was given a body. After Ilya interfered and connected him to a body, it became like a terminal for his soul that might already went wherever souls go after body's death.

Hmmm. I'm starting to think that Emilya might not be a Servant at all.

Instead the Second Magic that trasported her to Ilya's dimension, used Ilya's summoning spell as an anchor and bending the rules set by Grail system, forced it to summon Emilya ( I like it even if then it remains unknown how Emilya got her naginata and how she'll be able to fight other Servants even with a powerful reinforcement spell on her body).

She still needs mana to stay in the world, because the spell that brought her there is more like a slingshot. Without a powerful external source of mana to keep the spell active, it would immediately return her to her own dimension. I guess some other elements of a Servant system like Command spells could affect her as well.

I thought of it because:

1) idea about Emilya dying\making a contract with world (for example wishing to prevent what happened to Ilya and Sakura in 5th War and to live his\her life with them ) and summoned as a normal Servant is good but, as I feel, a little too bland. That's actually the reason why I kept trying to come up with something else then those two.

2)Those two ideas above are about the only ones that can happen without making the story into an AU.

Anyway, trying to make an explanation for every detail in a story that is based on a comedy-oriented comic is not a best thing to do, so I'll stop my mostly unneeded research and return to writing the fic -.-

Edit.
I'm not intending to, but I thought about changing Emilya's 'class' to Archer with traced 'Black Barrel' pistol as a main weapon -.-

Any contracts with the world would effectively make Emilya a counter guardian. A.K.A Archer MK II

Unless it's really needed, I don't really see a reason you can't continue on with what you already have. Again unless you somehow have Kinoku's notes right in front of you, I don't expect you to follow every single one of Nasu's rules. It can really limit how you want to write otherwise.

Hm. Title of Archer MK II belongs to Archerko :)

Which idea you like more?

1) Ilya managed to fully use Heaven's Feel and make Shiro's(Emilya's) soul unable to dissipate fully until her body is destroyed.

After what was believed to be Emilya's death, Rin and one of the mages that study Third magic appeared with Zelretch and said that actually her spirit is between Throne of Heroes and the world of living and now her state is more like deep coma she can be awaken from.(Avalon could help her not to die as well)

But instead of doing it, he suggested that he travel with her to other dimension and through his knowledge of Grail system, make her a Servant so she could reach her dream.

Afterwards, she could be brought back so the Magi Association could study her more.

2)Emilya is still alive and well, but used Grail system and Ilya as an anchor and powerplant for dimensional travel spell and will return home when spell is no longer supported.
Think of it as intercepting the summoning made by a Master and redirecting it to Emilya. I think that Grail is not sentient, so if the rules are bended are little, it won't care who the entity that Master got in the end was.

So... since Emilya's highest stat is her agility, she was 'registered' as Lancer and is under Command Seals. Her reinforcement spell is affected by power from Grail\Ilya and she has enough speed to fight other Servants while her traced naginata and other weapons are strong enough to kill them.

Also, as I understood, Avalon that she has inside will be active as long as it's supplied with Mana and will improve her otherwise very poor endurance.

If we really want to be absurd. Why don't we make Emilya as the container of the 'Throne of Heroes'. Something that exists outside the normal flow of space and time.

Our explanation? Zelretch did it.

Yeah. A mage that killed Crimson Moon in one-on-one combat, pushed away Moon that was about to collide with Earth is damn powerful and I guess his only enemy, worth fighting with everything he has, is his boredom. -.-

If we really want to be absurd. Why don't we make Emilya as the container of the 'Throne of Heroes'. Something that exists outside the normal flow of space and time.

While that certainly fits the story with Kaleido Ruby, maybe it'll be better to have something along the lines:
Due to unexpected event, probably interference with Akasha (Akasha knows how) when Heaven's Feel was performed, Emilya's UBW( as in 'her own mini-dimension'. Like the woman that gave Lancer his Gae Bolg ended in ) was materiazed outside the normal flow of space and time and after her time on Earth ended, she appeared there, immortal and alone in this 'special room' connected to the Throne of Heroes.
But when Ilyasviel von Einzbern wished for the strongest Heroic spirit and someone she could call a friend, not a mere spirit copy of Emilya was summoned, but she managed to bend the bonds that tied her to her world and walk the world once again, at least until her existence on the Earth ended.

She decided to fight with all her heart because if she lost, she would be returned to her realm again and imprisoned there for God knows how long. -.-

Can you feel the epicness?! lol

A small piece that signals my return to writing this fic -.-

Several weeks passed in relative peace and quiet with both Ilya and her Servant staying in the castle, except for the quick trips to the city, either for recon or for fun.

-

In one of such peaceful evenings, Ilya stood near an open window in a dining room and looked at the sunset.
Emilya, who still sat at the table, noticed a light wind picking up and asked Sella, who was busy removing empty dishes from the table.
“She won’t get a cold like this? It’s warm and she might be used to low temperatures, but she’s still a child.”
Sella looked at the woman, willing to understand why this question was asked, and answered.
“No, illnesses and diseases have a hard time effecting Illyasviel due to her nature, as they do with all Homunculi.”
“Really? No wonder I never got ill even after I…” Emilya’s voice trailed off, because she didn’t want to talk about her past too much.
Ilya suddenly pulled her gaze away from the forest, lit with orange light, and turned to the other women.
“You mean that you never got ill before those events?”
Emilya stopped gathering the dishes and brushing away a rogue strand of her hair, answered.
“Yes, I don’t remember ever getting sick. Why do you ask?”
“Because, now I know where Avalon went. We’ll take it tomorrow.” smiled Ilya and returned
her attention to the outside.

-

The next day, after Shiro presumably returned from school, Ilya and her Servant walked to Emiya residence.
Suddenly, Lancer stopped and turning around moved so fast, she disappeared from view.
“What happened?” asked her Master, looking around clearly nervous.
“Do you feel another Servant?”
Emilya, busy with trying to see whoever she felt a minute ago, didn’t answer,
‘Where is he? I know I felt that someone was looking at me. Ilya will frown if I use magic here and blow our cover, but I can’t take any chances.’

She cupped her hands and after a brief flash of light, that made Ilya wince from the sudden strain, a metal bird, same one as yesterday, appeared in her hands. It flapped its wings several times and disappeared in the sky above them.

‘Where is it?’ thought Lancer, watching her surrounding both through bird’s eyes and her own.
“Lancer, is it another Servant?” asked Ilya as she spread her own spell, looking for traces of magic around them.
Emilya, broke her concentration and smiling, said.
“It could be. But I couldn’t see anything.”
“That means that somebody already knows who we are. But if that was Tosaka’s or Mato’s Servant, we’ll kill them in the very start, so what they know would be useless.” said her Master, but her smile turned into frown when she noticed the expression on Lancer's face.
"Yes, I still remember that you asked me to spare two girls that could be Masters and maybe I won't kill them."

More about two original Servants, I thought you might want to know about them :)

Archer.
Arjuna.
He's a son of the leader of demigods. His sense of duty is strong to an extreme and he was belived to be sensitive, thoughtful and extremely handsome. Not much of staying ability, but his battle instincts and focus are very sharp and the amount of damage he can dish out is ridiculous.

His Noble Phantasms from India's history.

The Pashupatastra.
Rank: EX.
Type: Anti-world.

In Hindu mythology, is the irresistible and most destructive personal weapon of Shiva ( One of Shiva's names is God of Destruction ) discharged by the mind, eyes, words or a bow. Never to be used against lesser enemies and by lesser warriors, the Pashupata is capable of destroying creation and vanquishing all beings. After completing a trial, it was given to Arjuna by Shiva himself.

I mean 'Oh, my god!' o.O ,it's at least equal to Enuma Elish. Fortunately, for Arjuna it can be fired only by bow.

Gāndeeva
Rank A+
Type: Anti-battalion

An incredibly powerful bow, which gave its user sure victory in battle. Can be charged to either fire a single very powerful arrow or a rain of lesser.

(Name is unknown)
A divine chariot, with powerful white horses that do not tire and cannot be wounded by normal weapons.

Rostam
Rider

He's a giant with immense strength, not Hercules level but quite a lot. One of his most famous deeds is slaying of several beasts\demons so he could save his sovereign, Key Kavus. I have no idea how to make it into a Noble Phantasm except for dragon slaying attribute. He's a brave and religious hero with lots of staying power.

Milestones of his journey.

A great lion was trampled by Rostam's horse.
A spring was found in the middle of the desert when he was almost dead from thirst.
A dragon was killed by Rostam and his horse helped a lot as well.
A witch is killed.
Defeats a Mazani hero, Olad, and spares his life so he would help Rostam learn where the leader of demons is.
Killed the demon keykeeper, Arjhang-e Div.
Killed Div-e Sepid and frees Key Kavas.

Noble Phantasms.
Rank: C
Babr-e Bayan, the mythical tiger skin coat worn by the Persian legendary hero Rostam in combat, it was fire-proof, water-proof and weapon-proof.

Rakhsh
Rank: A
Rostam's legendary mount, the only steed that can carry this giant, is powerful enough to simply trample most of its enemies and is highly intelligent. It even bit through dragon's hide as if it was a simple animal's skin.

Something about Emilya's character. Decided to write and post it to remind myself that even though I have RL issues, i shouldn't forget about fun things.

“Where’s he, Lancer? I’ve been waiting for half an hour already.” asked Illyasviel, standing up from the bench, not far away from Emiya residence, and starting to walk back and forth.
“Don’t worry, Ilya. There’s no archer practice today, so he was probably asked to help to repair or clean something. He’ll be here soon.”
Ruby eyed girl turned to her Servant and said, impatiently and slightly irritated.
“But you are him from the future, so couldn’t you remember exactly when we can meet him? I’m bored!”
“I’m sorry, but it was a lot of time ago.” Lancer sighed and brushed away a lock of her white hair that fluttered before her eyes from a sudden gust of wind.

-

“Finally!” exclaimed Ilya when she saw the redheaded boy appear from around the corner and ran to him.
“Why are you so late?! I’ve been waiting for an hour!”
Shiro stopped in hesitation, but soon remembered who she was and answered.
“I was busy at school, sorry for making you wait. And I couldn’t remember anything about the sheath you asked about.”
“That’s all right, onii-chan. I know where it is.” said Ilya smiling and answered Shiro’s questioning gaze by poking him in his chest.
“It’s here. You never got sick for past ten years, didn’t you?”

Ignoring Lancer’s shocked gasp and Shiro’s confused look, Ilya took the boy’s hand and pulled him to his home.
“Come on, I’ll get it out of you and I won’t have to kill you in a month.”
Lancer’s who looked at them, couldn’t decide what to do. On one hand she wanted to run to Ilya and asked her to tell her everything about Avalon, but on the other, a giant sweatdrop, that formed when she saw Shiro’s face after Ilya’s last words, prevented her from moving.
She stayed in indecision for a minute until her Master impatiently motioned for her to come in and, sighing, Emilya walked in after them.

-

When they entered Emiya’s residence living room, familiar surroundings snapped Shiro out of shock of hearing the young girl speak about killing someone so easily. Forgetting her answer about the sheath’s location, he turned to Ilya and said.
“You can’t talk about killing anyone! Even if it was a joke!”
“I wasn’t joking, Shiro. I don’t really want to kill you now, but I’ll have to do it in a month if we don’t remove Avalon from your body.” answered Ilya, once again surprising the redheaded boy by contrast between her calm, even cheery voice and her words.
“Why…”
“I’ll answer you questions sometime later, onii-chan.” said Illyasviel, interrupting the boy’s, most likely, protests and chiding.
“Come here, Lancer.” she said and took Shiro’s hand, pulling him to her Servant.
“Now, Shiro. Concentrate and imagine a gold and blue sheath that appeared in your body ten years ago and will to gather in one place.”
Seeing that the boy wanted to ask something, se put a finger on his lips, silencing him and turned to Emilya.
“You must pull it out of his body.”
Lancer, with some trepidation, stepped closer to the boy, who stood with closed eyes, and gathering her will she tried to feel the connection between herself and Avalon. When, in her mind, she saw the item, its image distorted as if she saw two sheaths, she reached into Shiro’s chest and felt something solid in her hand.
“Yay! You did it!” happily cried Ilya, when her Servant pulled out Avalon. She choose not to highlight the fact that for a brief moment her Servant’s body gained same glow as Shiro’s did when Avalon gathered in one place.
“I did?” asked Emilya in half-disbelieving voice as she looked at her hand.
“Now, if you’ll excuse us, we must leave.” said Ilya, formally bowing and a few seconds later, Emilya repeated her Master’s movements.
When they turned to leave, Shiro, clearly nervous, said.
“Wait! You promised to answer my questions!”
“I’m sorry Shiro, but even though you’re a mage, we can’t tell you yet because it will put a lot of people in danger.” He heard the answer. Unexpectedly, it wasn’t Ilya who said that, but the woman that came with her.

-

“How did you know that it was inside of his body, Ilya?” asked Lancer as they exited Shiro’s home and walked home.
Ilya looked at her sister as if she wondered about something and answered.
“You said that you never got sick even before your 5th War.”
Ilya stopped and bringing a finger to her chin, asked with an expression that mixed pouting and curiosity.
“Don’t tell me you never knew that you had Avalon inside of your body? You even never asked yourself how could you die with that sheath?”
“That’s a very good question.” said Emilya, clenching her fists and feelings that flashed in her eyes, showed that she did have some of Ilya’s personality and magi that visited her several times while she was still alive, would die as slow as she could manage.

Also, imagine Reisen, from Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, fight with Gilgamesh. I think it'll be a fun scene :D
