Ranma - Senshi Assassin

For submitting and talking about story ideas, individual scenes that need doctoring, outlines, or other detail work that isn't quite ready for the C&C thread.

Idea submissions must be at least five paragraphs long, and include plot points, summaries of which characters are involved, and, for fanfiction, how it differs from canon. Both original and fanfiction ideas welcome. Though original works should have more development. Replying posts must give actual commentary, no "GREAT IDEA" or "THIS SUCKS".

Interesting, if that is to be treated as a Geas and taken literally, and if it transferred with the powers... that would mean Ranma *CANNOT* serve a Government *OR* the Senshi.

Tis would mean they could never ever come to a agreement.

Neat... Usagi done in by the black ops program created by her own mother.

Reminds me of chapter 11 of 'Scrapyard Ranma' by Krahae

Wording in second snippet makes me think that Ranma is locked and believes it to be the normal state of affairs. That is ominous.
'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean different things.'
'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master - that's all.'

Yeah, it's not supposed to read like that. Ranma's not locked, he's just noticing that he can't see anything out of the ordinary with his guy form.

I'd give Serenity a bit of a nicer side then all the darkness from that last bit. Let her still be a positive figure, while realistically still needing someone like the new senshi you're developing. So still show compassion here, not just being so manner of fact. That'd instantly make the not at all canon dark and dank feel of this better.

Also why wouldn't Ranma be locked? Senshi are supposed to be all women. What's the escape that's used to explain why he's immune to such things? Also could have maybe used a bit more of his soul becoming all metaphysical and stuff with the crystals and such. And becoming basically eternal and rezz happy at the Cauldron and such, which technically the assassin that died would be too.

Actually... to me it only makes sense that a kingdom, or really any government, would have black ops.

It is not remotely realistic to believe otherwise.

So seeing it in a anime universe only follow...

For some reason I am reminded of the Drakengard 3 plot where 5 goddess rule the world and one of them decided to kill the other four. Or something like that, pretty interesting but depressing! And from the initial idea it seems like it might tale a dark and gritty turn. Kind of remind me of that one fire by Fire I believe where R series Senshi battled S- series villain.

Black Ops and operators are all well and logical. Serenity being an unfeeling lack of warmth bitch when she's doing her spell to create a new senshi...That doesn't feel right.

Shrugs... It might make sense once you are accounting for the job that senshi is to fulfill.

She being of all good cheer and happiness while making a black ops senshi would be even more unnerving.

I'm not saying her being happy she's doing this. But you're giving someone you just met a lot of power. Serenity is not some evil queen, in fact she seemed to rule a pretty prosperous long lived kingdom, that we haven't seen has some super ugly underside. That and the Senshi are her immortal warriors and champions. You wouldn't want to get to know a new one just a little bit before giving them that power? Talk to them? Regardless of who is advising her. Especially one whose mandate is going to be going out to kill for her? Something Serenity herself probably doesn't really like the thought of from what we know of her and her daughter from canon. Just seems like she's more welcoming, probing, while still being a stern ruler. All you've got is the stern ruler being practical here. You're missing the other elements of what should be in her character as well.

We really do *not* have a good true view of how the Kingdom was run under her rein, or her disposition... that she was a kind, gentle, loving, magnanimous, etc... ruler is mere belief...

The only real views we have of her is the extremely biased and fragmented views of the reincarnated princesses, and the moon cats. These are people that might not know or care about the true workings of the kingdom. They truly might not even know as they might never have been told in that life.

The only other observations we can make of her are through the capabilities and thoughts of her enemies... I'm referring to both Nehalania and Beryl...

Considering that Beryl was totally willing to bind herself to a demon from the Sun that wanted to consume all life to get her man...And Serenity was pretty much the exact anti-thesis to that. Plus that the Silver Crystal which was used by both of them was always a life bringing and purifying tool, find that a hard perspective to swallow.

I'll toss my two cents in, concerning some of these recent subjects.

We only know that Queen Serenity used the Ginzuishou for sealing/casting away (twice/once) and reincarnation (once), and potentially for the creation of the palaces. While its capabilities tend to lean toward the positive end of the spectrum, there doesn't seem to be anything that it can't do (because it has killed and destroyed). Now, I don't know how the requisites of the user's heart ties into something whose capabilities aren't restricted to said requisites, but I think it should be noted that Usagi was able to accomplish a lot more with it than her mother ever had (as far as we know; and she -- in fact -- had to take care of at least three things that her mother had failed to resolve herself), which might suggest something about the latter's character.

Another thing to consider, concerning her character, is how much she demanded of her sailor senshi. The four guardian sailor senshi were enlisted when they were but children (I'm fairly sure that they weren't even in their teens). Sailor Pluto appears to have been in her service since a young age as well, and started her post at the Door of Time at said young age, where she was alone and kept unknown to anyone else for who knows how long. Uranus and Neptune worked away from civilization, to prevent unwanted outsiders from entering the realm/solar system, and they would -- under normal circumstances -- never meet each other. Saturn was sealed away, and I still don't understand the purpose or reason for her being released, since we know that she doesn't have to destroy worlds by nature (yet Queen Serenity made that her purpose).

Based on that, I -- personally -- would not be surprised if she was nicer on the surface than she really was.

Crescent Pulsar S wrote:There's a bit of a dichotomy with Pluto's character. On the one hand, she had always stood guard at the Door of Time, with one of the three taboos forbidding her to leave her post. On the other, she's lived longer than anyone and has seen many eras (or, so Endymion claimed), even though her post started when she was still a child. However, how many eras can you fit in your childhood if you're stuck in the fourth dimension thereafter? Would Serenity even bother to mention another sailor senshi shrouded in secrecy for someone who would spend their days shut in another dimension, if said sailor senshi happened to be present at the time? The same could be said of Saturn as well, who was sealed away and would only appear long enough to use her attack before being sealed away once again.

But, well, that's manga canon. So, y'know... Maybe the anime canon is more palatable to one's tastes or needs.

Actually in both the manga and anime Pluto suffers from another aspect of Superman Syndrome--thanks to additional stories her original origin doesn't make sense anymore. You see original Superman's powers were explained as being the result of his entire race being the apex of human evolution which worked as long as Superman's powerset was in essence a poor man's Incredible Hulk. But when they added to the powerst that origin no longer made sense and we got the version that to a large part we still have today.

Pluto has the same problem as we are told even in the anime she can never leave her post by someone from the 30th century and yet in later stories Pluto has a personal identity on Earth so that origin no longer makes any sense.

The thing is there is a lot about the Moon Kingdom that leaves one questioning the whole utopia BS Usagi has been fed. In fact, if you think about it there is a lot about the Moon Kingdom and especially its last war that doesn't make sense.

Even by Western Chess dominated warfare concept theer is a lot about the Sailor Senshi that doesn't make sense and even less by Asian Go ie Sun Tzu warfare. And their foes are no better. In terms of actual military tactics Kuno could do better.

In this vein I have to ask just what kind of orders could this Sailor Senshi be given that this Shadow Senshi would be killing people? Also what kind of orders would forbid her from showing herself to the Queen's successor? As Ranma said in Fire's Destiny's Child "The Queen is dead; long live the Queen." Regardless of her wanting to admit it Usagi is the Queen so why doesn't this Shadow Senshi go to her and get new orders?

While it is interesting there are a lot of logistic issues with the idea.

Sailor Saturn's existence says otherwise a point I bring up in my fanfics. I mean who makes a Sailor Senshi whose only purpose if the anime and manga are any guide is to be a one shot living Death Star without "being an unfeeling lack of warmth bitch"?
