Yeah, so am I. And I'm glad I talked things over with my parents. Once they got over me being stuck as a human for a while, they were actually pretty supportive... and pretty good at playing "rules lawyer", too.

See, Kittenoan law says that two people who marry have to be the same general species. I mean, we can have a Siamese felinoid marrying a British shorthair felinoid, but you couldn't have a felinoid marrying a caninoid, for example. That's in part to head off any difficulties that would arise from species incompatibility, since the whole "cats vs. dogs" issue is a thing back home just as much as it is on Earth. There's also the little matter of ill-fated attempts to produce hybrids, among other stuff.

*quirky smile* Buuut, since I was human like my fiancé despite me being born a Maine Coon felinoid, local authorities didn't have any choice but to OK it.

I can actually understand that law, then. You don't really want to risk your kids ending up with severe issues or even horrible problems arising due to compatibility. If anything, it being for the sake of safety is understandable.

*nods* Hm. Though I did discover one thing in the aftermath of that... *cringes* ...Seems that the birthing process is a lot more painful for humans than it is for Kittenoans. Seriously, you should have been anywhere in the hospital's vicinity when I was giving birth to the quadruplets. Callista still has nightmares that are just nothing but me screaming at Ricky and the medical staff. I don't mind scaring her for laughs, but that's not something I wanted to be known for.

Yeeeaaaahhh. Human birth is a wonder in of itself in how humans are capable of pushing a kid through such a space.

*clutches her arms close to herself, shivering* Agreed. Very much agreed. I don't know how Ricky successfully convinced me to have a fifth. ...I mean, I'm glad he did, Ezekiel's real sweet and all, but it wasn't something I was eager to repeat. It's partially why I willingly had my reproductive organs removed after that.

It was just probably the idea of having another kid to dote on and be motherly to that got you to go with it~

I guess... though now that I think about it, three of the kids were thrilled at the idea of having a younger sibling. Ellen... *looks crestfallen* ...was not. For several weeks, all she did when she was home was sit around the living room and just stare at me. I mean, I knew she was mad.

She didn't actually say she was jealous... but that's just because she wasn't saying much of anything. Until after Zeke was born, she refused to talk to anyone except Ricky, and even then you'd think she was a distant relative of Calvin Coolidge.

She eventually got over it after spending time around Zeke, thankfully. And I was able to explain to her that just because I was having a fifth child, that didn't make her a fifth wheel.

It is amazing how much more Ellen has opened up then. As I definitely remember her being more quiet and more prone to sticking to herself.

Anyway, yeah. All the kids have grown. Ellen, Elk, and Zeke especially... though it makes me regret not showing Eebon and Echo's personalities to the world more often. Say, Curtis? Were you considering writing a one-shot focusing on the kids' graduation party at some point?

Though there is an important distinction to make. Bold and quoted text is the clone of Callista's original male self back on Earth, while anything marked with "((OOC:" is from the person who created us in the 'real' world, for a certain stretch of the term. The former was intended to live the life that Callista would have led had she never been mutated, the latter wasn't. I want to say Lioconvoy's gotten confused over that at least once in the past.
