Here's what I managed to come up with... it's a rough pencil sketch, but I think I need some extra details before I can continue with this (unless you let me to take quite a few liberties). These open questions include (but are not limited to) Ranma's preferred clothing in this form, hair style and amount of facial hair.

though Hotaru's postion does seem a bit odd, I suppose the tails are elevating her

So cute!! I love Ranma's expression, it looks like she's about to join Hotaru in a nap. Nothing beats a nice fluffy tail as a pillow or blanket! I can't wait to see the finished version!
On the mama papa issue, Hotaru called Haruka Haruka-papa even though she didn't turn into a guy, so she can call Ranma Ranma-papa if she wants to!

You know, on top of everything else, Ranma showing up could cause some jeloicy between some of the Inners. Why? Because Ami has a cute little fox that turns into a cute fox-girl (Ranma); Usagi has a cute little cat that turns into a cute cat-girl (Luna); Minako has a cute little tom-cat that turns into a cat-boy (Artemis) ; finally, Rei has a pair of ravens that turn into cute bird-girls (Phobos and Deimos).
What about poor Makoto??

The knowlege that everyone loves her and her cooking is the best they've ever tasted? And does she even have the room for a pet in her apartment?

belive it or not, a family dosent require a father figure or a mother figure,
of course the author can do as s/he pleases, Im just pointing that out,
to the author
I dont see why ranma would see himself as inhuman,
and im even more lost at how ranma ended up in some strange girls room.

I know! Without Ranma there to distract Tofu, Kasumi gets a bit hurt by him in his insanity fit, so Akane ends up cooking. Her attempt at Spaghetti escapes from the pot, survives in the wilds of Tokyo for one or two weeks until it stumbles by Makoto's window.
There, it looks at her cooking in awe and gains omniscience, then goes off to create the world, the universe, the number 42 and a large number of midgits through its many noddly appendages.
...thus, Makoto has a cute spaghetti monster that turns into an omnipotent god. And possibly her old sempai.
...or don't you like that idea?
