In answer to both questions, because he has an absolutely terrible personality that his writing only partially makes up for. Oh, the stories I could tell... from first-hand experience, too.

not sure where my ranma + akane bias came from though...
i mean i did read the ranma 1/2 manga... but then both the fics i started reading were by
A: Skysaber, a devotee of the anyone but akane church
B: Jeffrey, One shot, wong, who has ranma not hooking up with at last count 4 different anime's worth of chicks
and i like the way skysaber writes (i have some issues with oneshot and canon but beside that he writes decently)
Course i hate reading R+Akane fics as well if i wanted that i'd read the original manga....
unless they get twisted or such...
then again Ranma alterverse / crossovers are a favorite of mine..
