Ranma. A red head, feircely proud, values honor more than anything, and an unbeatable fighter. Doesnt that sound like someone from a certain ps1 game....?
The idea: In the fight with Herb on the mountain top, the force of Ranma and Herb's chi atacks, as well as destroying the mountain, rip a hole in reality, and Ranma gets thrown through. He finds him self in an evil forest, where the plants atack him, and monsters roam.
Sounding familiar yet?
He finds a little girl, being chased by knights intent on killing her. Ranma takes care of them, and looks after the girl. He takes her from the forrest, still fending off atacks from the knights, until he ends up wiping out a small army of them. In the fight Ranma looses her (as the curse is still locked) eye.
Suddenly, an airship lands, filled with women knights and a fairly ugly woman in charge. The little girl runs towards her, calling her 'Mommy'. The ugly woman calls the girl 'Garnet'.
That's right- a Final Fantasy 9 crossover!
It turns out that the captian of the Knights of Pluto decided to take controll of the knigdom, killing the king, and sending his forces out to kill the princess. The female knights managed to get queen Bhanhe aboard the Red Rose, and keep her safe. The only members of the knights of Pluto who didnt try to kill the royal family were a fairly incompetent captian called 'Stiener', and his 12 subordinates. They were left out of the orders, and so whille not guilty of treason, arn't believed to be totally innocent.
Because of how well Ranma defended the princess, the Queen promotes her to be the General of her knights. Ranma keeps Stiener and his 12 men alive, but refuses to let the Knights of Pluto grow beyond that size, as he dosent trust Stiener- his competency or his loyalty. The queen gives Ranma a more appropriate name- Beatrix.
After a coupple of years, Ranma gets Dr Tot to un-lock the curse. By now, Ranma is totaly loyal to the queen and the princess, and stays on as their guard, never leting them know about the fact that 'she' can turn into a boy.
But as Ranma is, at heart, a guy, he sometimes leaves the castle for hours or days, and takes up the persona of a mercenary. Because of how long he spent locked in girl form, his boy form now has red hair. He even gets a reputation as a deadly fighter, one who will take any job if it's challenging enough. The call him 'The Flaming Amarant'.
This would (eventually) lead into the main story of FF9. Beatrix mentioning that she once killed a hundered knights would be a reference to when she first came to that world. She'd leave Zidane and co alive each time she faced them because they were fun to fight.
After that fight in disk 2, the one against the dogs, she would become he, and become one of the people sent to track down Garnet because is would be the fastest way to find her, and keep her safe.
This would totally change the Beatrix/Stiener relationship. Stiener would come off a lot like Kuno, in terms of just not getting that 'Beatrix' is a guy.
