The Swedes actually tried Moose Cavalry once. They were forced to drop the idea after making one key discovery: Moose are smarter than horses in one specific way. Namely, once they know what pikes and muskets do, they aren't dumb enough to go charging towards them just because a human told them to.
Genius is 1.7% inspiration, 98.6% perspiration, and .4% poor math skills.

After training his penguin army to march in rigid formation, draping them in ammunition, and slinging M4A1 assault carbines across their backs, the Evil Overlord sent them off to do battle against his nemesis, the Bear Cavalry of Evil Overlord #2.
It was only after they'd been slaughtered to the last bird that he discovered:
1. Penguin flippers aren't flexible enough to unsling the carbines, or hold them even if they were able to unsling them.
2. Penguin flippers are too large to fit in the trigger guards even if they had unslung the rifles and were able to hold them.
3. Even if penguin flippers were flexible and small enough to hold and operate the rifles, belts of 7.62mm machinegun ammunition won't work in a 5.56mm M4A1 assault carbine, especially since - the whole size thing aside - they load ammunition from box magazines, not belts.
Penguin Army: FAIL
