if you're going to add an elevator, retrofit using the normal stairwell space is the sensible thing to do. With the population aging, and the coming robots, elevators really make sense. But if you're building anew, vertical elevators are the way to go. More easily-usable floor space.

The solution to the Pokemon-Gundam problem is brilliant: take the item's virginity, buyers won't be able to trust resellers claims of 'sealed in original box'.
