But with a twist- ranma (through reincarnation or mushrooms or something) is Auska. I mean, when i first ranma a ranma/eva fic, i was sure that would be how it would go. But i keep lookiing, and i just havent found one. Can it be noone has made one yet?

Actually I was planning it but don't have the time to actually write it out, right now Pale Wolf has shown some interested in and I gave the idea to PW to try out.

You know It wouldbe nice if just once a ranma Eva Cross followed the manga. Would be also nice if ranma signifigantly changed things too. Of all teh Eva/Ranma crossovers I've seen Only one has a signifigantly different plot, and that's Sic Semper. and That plot is ridiculously divergent.

Heh, speaking of a Ranma/Wolf's Rain cross, I've had an idea for it brewing in my head, but I have way too many fics that I'm working on at the moment.

there's a fic somewhere don't really remember the title or author I think it was Auska 1/2 where Auska got place into Ranma's body and was only awake when his curse was activated. I know it's not Ranma becoming Auska but I think thats as close as it gets.

Well, I did have a couple ideas..
Prospective name: "The New Recruit"
Origins: Ranma 1/2 / The Last Starfighter
Ten years after the fall of the Ko-Dan Armada and the escape of Xur, Star Marshall Alex Rogan is doing his best to suppliment the forces of the Star League. Unfortunately (Or Fortunately), Centari's up to his old tricks and Alex's old stomping grounds.
When Ranma ducks into an arcade to escape the bi-weekly Putz Parade, he encounters an old man fiddling with a new game, "STARFIGHTER II", and asks Ranma to help him out in making sure it was not damaged in the transport. When Ranma blazes through the game, Centari's sure that he's found his newest paycheck-er, recruit. And he's sure Alex won't mind too much. He hopes.
So Ranma has been recruited as the test pilot for the new GunStar Mk V-2, and Gamma-4 (Newest, top of the line replacement) has to figure out just what it's gotten into by replacing this maniac... And not a moment too soon, for Xur has spent his time in exile recruiting for his Cult, as well as strongarming the Ko-Dan remnant under his banner.

Origins: Ranma / Battletech
Happosai has gone too far, and during a knock-down-drag-out brawl, kills Ranma in front of over a hundred witnesses. Only to be killed himself by a tall but very familiar man standing next to a very tall and unfamiliar woman.
The woman: Star Commander Elayne, 13th Wolffang Cluster.
The man: Star Colonel Ranma Kerensky, Commander of 13th Wolffang Cluster.
When Ranma was slain by Happosai, he was reborn several times as formidable but rarely known warriors and artists. His latest reincarnation, however, was born to a Clan Wolf Sibko fifteen years before the Clan Invasion. He performed incredibly well, becoming a Star Colonel by the age of twenty two, and earning the Kerensky bloodname in the brutal Trial of Bloodright that occured after Natasha Kerensky's death during the Refusal War. However, one battle with the Falcons later, the Falcon jumpship misjumped trying to get away from the stronger Wolf forces, and the catastrophic failure destroyed the Emerald Talon and sent Ranma's dropship, the Hunter's Trail, one thousand years into the past. (Before you ask, yes there is precident. Read "Living Legends") The Hunter's Trail ended up materializing half-buried in a mountain in Japan, with only two survivors, Elayne and Ranma.
The two Wolves wander their way to find a doctor to help them with their injuries, and watch an old man murder another man with a bomb. Enraged by the waste of life, Ranma draws his laser pistol and kills the old man.
Ranma and Elayne end up drawing curiousity, confusion and outrage where they go, and the two must deal with the problems of seeming 'mistaken identity' in Ranma's case, Elayne being looked at as yet another fiancee, and the two Wolves trying to balance the concept of being the first Clansmen on Earth since (or rather, before) the Exodus with the thought of never being able to return to their Clan, not to mention concealing what little technology they have (3 Elemental suits and Ranma's salvaged Summoner.)
(Don't ask me where that idea came from. It might have potential but.)
Possible branches or scenes:
Cologne thinks Ranma's concussion has caused him to lose his memories (Or rather, the memories of his 'past' life) and tries to restore them, possibly not working, possibly restoring memories from several past lives).
Their arrival is just as Gosunkugi find a suit of mechanical armor (Manga vol 22 I think, not sure). When he challenges Ranma, Ranma sees it as a Circle of Equals situation, and dons one of the spare Elemental Suits. Silly fight ensues.

The last star fighter one sounds pretty interesting. I havent read to many naratives about dogfights or space battles but I imagine that it would play a crucial part and make or break the story when it got to that point. It would also give you an avenue for adding other space fareing races and such. Could use a ship from a shooter game for Ranma. Maybe Ikuraga (it switches polarities between black and white). Anouther distinct advantage would be that he would be placed in a situation where his martial skill only helps him so much. Unless it has a special interface really only quick and accurate reflexes and perhaps danger sense would translate for piloting. Plus having a partner that has more experience and that he has to rely on would give it a 'training' flavor.
The second idea has some potential too, though im not familiar enough with battletech to have a full grasp on it. The 'mistaken identity' problem sounds like it could have lots of fun applications though. I would think that the quick killing action though would alienate him from some of the cast even if he looks like Ranma.
I havent seen too many Ranma/Yugi-oh crosses. The few I stumbled across took different angles and though they didnt go very far were interesting. These like the few that cross with Angelic Layer offer a special avenue of exploration for Ranma as I imagine his time spent playing or doing things that dont have somekind of payback for the effort (martial arts vs. video games/casual reading) is pretty limited. That and it would be hard for him to give up the advantage his MA skills give him to play at the same level as others. Though he arguably may do this to be sporting during a few of his fights he is just as likely learning the opponents style or how to defeat it with his own.

Ranma/Shura no Toki
Ever since the Heian Era the followers of the Mutsu Enmei Ryu have been regarded as fighters without peer defeating swordsmen without number armed only with their bare fists. Over the centuries members of the Mutsu clan have fought and bested such luminaries as Miyamoto Musashi, Yagyu Jubei Mitsuyoshi, Okita Soushi and Hijikata Toshizo.
Now it is the modern day and the latest scion of the Mutsu clan wanders the world to seek a challenge worthy of those fought by his ancestors. His wanderings take him to Furinkan-cho, Nerima-ku Tokyo where he crosses paths with Saotome Ranma. He may have just found the challenge he seeks and for the first time the Mutsu Enmei Ryu fights for the title of premier unarmed fighting stlye as it goes head to head with the Mutsabetu Kakuto Saotome Ryu.

Well, none of the witnesses, I imagine, would be the Ranma cast... I sort of imagined the mistaken identity coming from the fact that the old Ranma's body was so badly burnt by Happi's attack that nobody could identify him, and with the new Ranma there, few of the Nerima crew would notice the difference. He only kills Happi because of the waste of life.

Well, here's a couple that might make some good crossovers
1.) Ranma/24/Negima--A plot escelates to reveal the identity of high ranking Magi to the world mixed with the threat of a neurologic spell that makes people loose all ambitions to retain their level of modesty, all within 24 hours of Ranma landing...where ever Negi teaches.
2.) Ranma/Princess Nine--Ranma-chan and Ukyo make the cut, so would of Akane, but they heard how she was in the kitchen. (BRRRR)
3.) Ranma/Princess Nine/Sailor Moon--Ranma-chan and various others from Sailor Moon get recruited to go to Kisaragi High. Dreams of Koshien may come true after all.
I more than likely won't do any of them, but if someone want to use these ideas, go ahead. Just please let me know, ok?

Aren't elementals gigantic? I haven't read any of the novels, but I've played the RPG and tabletop for years and I know that in order to fit into elemental armor you'd have to be 2 meters tall and half as as wide on the shoulder (we once nitpicked the battletech cartoon, where the protagonists "stole" elemental armor, a ridiculous concept). Anyone large enough to wear elemental armor would stick out like a sore thumb in Nerima, and nobody would ever mistake the original Ranma with one that can fit in it.
