Yet-another-fanon-Pluto-scene: I didn't.

Pluto being a bit of a schemer isn't *all* fanon, to be honest. She does prefer to keep her own agenda hidden, most of the time.
Of course, fanon exaggerates it. Personally, I see Pluto as the type to nudge the timeline, not go around hitting it with a sledgehammer to make it go the way she wants like fanon assumes.
Assuming she DOES influence history, it'll be in subtle ways. She's not the type to use force to fix things, she's more the type who'd scatter a series of quick-fixes here and there, at the very most.
Also, the Gates of Time do have limits. Just because she can see the future to an extent, doesn't mean she can control everything. Even a Senshi has limits, the series itself drives the point home.
My opinion is that Pluto merely attempts to direct the Senshi so that immediate, obvious threats to Crystal Tokyo are eliminated. As for the rest, it's in God's hands. There's only so much one can do to defy fate, and Pluto of all people should know it.
And before you ask, no, I don't think Pluto doesn't care about the Great Freeze occurring. It's more likely that she has found no way to prevent it, and thus is working to at least save anyone that can be saved. She may be a schemer, but isn't heartless.
Of course, the mess in the timestream is going to upset her, but it'd be a nice change if, for once, she didn't appear as the typical 'kill it!' person that so many fics depict her as.
I have faith that Ozzallos will pull it off. After all, in The Best Of Times, Ranma was neutralized without any overly aggressive actions. It got messy later on, but to Setsuna's credit, in that fic things kept going from bad to worse without interruption.
Just my $0.02 on the matter and my humble input on this fic.

Virtually all uses of Setsuna in fan fiction is alt-uni, so author descretion about her is pretty much the rule, rather than the exception. I don't think there's more than three or four stories I've ever seen that come close to her canon persona. With that in mind, there's not an awful lot of sense in talking about how she's portrayed; the arguments are usually over which fanon portrayal should be used.
If you're interested, here's a more accurate look at her.
The idea that Setsuna can view the past and future or influence the course of history is all fanon. Canon Setsuna is specifically forbidden from using the Gates of Time for anything. Her "control" over them is limited to choosing who else is allowed to use them to travel through time. IIRC, time-travel is all they are ever used for in the series.
Her staff does tap into the power of the Gates to fuel her time-related powers. However, using those powers can result in her own destruction.
She doesn't normally live on Earth. Her job of guarding the Gates is thought to be so important that she rarely ever leaves them. She only appeared a handful of times in either the manga or anime, and at least one of those appearances was the Senshi going to her.
Her listed abilities are:
Time Stop - This ability is forbidden and Sailor Pluto can only use it at the sacrifice of her life. She uses it to save Haruka and Michiru from Mistress 9, and goes missing for the entire next story arc.
Dead Scream - Sailor Pluto sends a blast of energy at her opponent. This attack's verbal cue is whispered, not shouted.
Chronos Typhoon - Sailor Pluto sends a gust of wind from her staff. This attack is used in Volume 9, Act 31.
Garnet Ball - Sailor Pluto uses her Garnet Orb to create a barrier around her general area; it's similar to Saturn's Silence Wall. This is used in Volume 9, Act 32.
Dark Dome Close - Sailor Pluto uses this spell to forever close the Gates of Time after Sailor Saturn uses her Death Reborn Revolution.
Galactica Cannon - Sailor Pluto and Sailor Saturn use this attack against Sailor Moon when they are controlled by Sailor Galaxia. It's not part of her normal repetoire.

Um, did you mean Galaxia or Chaos when you said Metalia, or did the timeline change in some way I don't know?
Also, did I read it correct that Beryl shows up in all the timelines that have survival chances (implying that she is somehow responsible for it) or did she mean that Beryl now shows up in EVERY possible timeline?

A couple of typos I caught in the extended remastered edition to the scene that you posted.

“So, do you want the good news or the bad news first?”
The Senshi blinked. There wasn’t supposed to be bad news. Metallia was defeated and the woman before them had all but assured them that had been the last major enemy before the Great Ice. Sure, that was bad news all by itself, but largely the unavoidable sort. Makato raised her hand timidly. “Um, the good news?”
The gaze she turned upon the girl made her shiver. “There is no good news.”
“But I thought you just said…” Usagi cocked her head without a clue.
“Crystal Tokyo is gone.”
Silence reigned for a moment as the statement was absorbed by Pluto’s audience before moon broke it abrubtly, followed closely behind by the other Senshi. After the din of discontent settled down Usagi focused on Setsuna with steel intensity. "So what's the bad news?" This question brought silence to the room as they waited for for the answer in trepidation.
Pluto let loose a belaboured sigh and looked away, an uncharacteristic action that made the gathered senshi feel as if they had ice lodged in their stomaches. Worry eating away at her Usagi was about to prompt her again when she got her answer. All blood drained from her face as shock set in. A full three minutes later the neighborhood was pierced by a heartwrenching scream akin to that of a dieing world. Milk spoiled, babies cried and not a single dog failed to join the wailing of the damned.
Usagi had cried once when she was told Santa Clause wasn't real. Facing monsters became routine after the first few near death encounters. However nothing could have prepared her for the death sentance uttered from Setsuna's pale lips.
'In about three months time there will be a decisive event. The result of which will be the death of our species or forever remove humanities means of making ice cream .'
Forty-five seconds later the other senshi joined her in lamenting the sacrifice they would have to make.

This stuff is really good! I had been wondering how Plan B would play out... Now I have a better idea of what is coming. So why isn't all of this stuff posted yet? It seems good to go to me.

“Beryl features prominently in every damn one of them.”

Hmm, Setsuna's only seeing Beryl in the timegates......it seems either the gates are misleading, and she's making her own assumptions, (i.e. she only sees Beryl's magical signature or something similar...)
OR
Ranma gets subsumed by Beryl's vengeance and becomes her in word, thought, deed, and mind.....
I'd have to guess the first, but hey, who knows? It's Ozz. :D
Later,

Wow.....
Just read a bit over at the snippet section on Ozz's FF page, and it's looks like it could be one of the very few Ranma gets even with Nabiki scenes that isn't way overdone, yet still very scary for the middle Tendo daughter....
But it looks like Ozz is editting everything he's typed, so I don't quite know what's going on.....
